Kofola was invented in 1960 to use up surplus caffeine from coffee roasting, and became the cola of a country that could not import Coca-Cola. It still outsells both American colas in Slovak pubs: less sweet, herbal, with liquorice and a fourteen-ingredient syrup (Kofo) that has never been published. Now made by Kofola a.s. in Rajecká Lesná.
We sell it in 0.33 l cans only, because cans survive the parcel and because a two-litre bottle would cost more to ship than it is worth. Six cans, 2.2 kg with packing — please note this pack is priced to cover its weight, and shipping is cheapest when you order it together with a box.
Best cold, in a pub glass, with a Horalka. Contains caffeine (about 15 mg per 100 ml).
Ingredients: water, sugar, caramel, carbon dioxide, acidity regulator citric acid, natural flavourings, caffeine, Kofo syrup extract. Allergens: none.
