Forest honey (lesný or medovicový med) is made not from flowers but from honeydew on oak, fir and pine — which gives it a dark amber colour, a malty, slightly resinous taste and more minerals than any blossom honey. It is the honey Slovak grandmothers keep for winter colds and the one visitors take home from the Malé Karpaty.
Harvested in late summer by the same family apiary above Modra that supplies our acacia honey, coarse-filtered and jarred cold. 500 g glass jar with a screw lid, labelled to the 2026 EU rules (country of harvest: Slovakia 100 %), shipped in a moulded-pulp sleeve.
At 780 g shipped this is the heaviest single item we sell — it makes most sense in a parcel with wafers or tea, or as the anchor of the Honey Trio.
Ingredients: forest honeydew honey. Not suitable for infants under 12 months. May crystallise; warm gently in water.
