Hand-painted 7 cm džbánik, a small piece of Modra for any shelf
Incl. VAT · 250 g shipping weight · Ships in 1–2 working days
The miniature džbánik is how most Slovaks own their first piece of Modra majolica: a 7 cm jug, painted with the same freehand blue floral motif as the big wine jugs, small enough to hold a few teaspoons of honey or sit on a desk in Berlin as a reminder of home.
Made by Slovenská ľudová majolika in Modra (since 1883; on Slovakia's Intangible Cultural Heritage list). Tin-glazed earthenware, hand-painted, workshop stamp on the base. Slight variations in shape and brushwork are the point.
At 250 g shipped in a small rigid box with pulp insert, it is the majolica piece that fits into any parcel — we put one in the Tatra Premium box when the mug is out of stock, and it is a favourite stocking filler with our German and Austrian gift buyers.
