Hand-made 15 cm folk figure in traditional dress
Incl. VAT · 120 g shipping weight · Ships in 1–2 working days
The šúpolienka — a woman in folk dress with a headscarf and a basket, tied entirely from soaked corn husk — is the figure Slovak children made in autumn and the one that stands on a shelf in most Slovak homes abroad. This one is about 15 cm tall, made by an artisan from the ÚĽUV (Centre for Folk Art Production) network in western Slovakia, with the apron, scarf and basket all formed from layered husk and tied with thread; no glue, no paint.
Each doll is made individually and differs in posture and detail. Stands on its own; keep dry and out of direct sun and it lasts for decades.
Shipped in a rigid kraft box with tissue, 120 g. Comes with a card on the craft in Slovak, English and German. Decorative object, not a toy.
