Three hand-made corn-husk ornaments in a gift box: an angel, a bell and an eight-pointed star, each around 8–10 cm, tied from soaked and layered maize leaves without glue or paint. The set is made by artisans from the ÚĽUV (Centre for Folk Art Production) network, who have been supplying Slovak Christmas markets with šúpolie figures for decades.
The ornaments hang from natural-fibre loops and weigh next to nothing, so the set travels safely anywhere in the EU in its rigid kraft box with tissue. We add a small card explaining the craft in Slovak, English and German — useful when the set is a gift for a non-Slovak household.
The warm straw colour of corn husk sits well with wood, linen and candles; kept dry and out of direct sun the figures last for many Christmases. Decorative objects, not toys.
